The main character of the new Arkane story is Colt. We meet him on the beach, with no weapons, no equipment, and no idea why he is where he is. After a while, we learn that the protagonist is on the island of Blackreef and has fallen into his old friends from a very dangerous organization. As you might expect, he is now in the crosshairs of an army of pissed and armed opponents. As if that were not enough, Colt got stuck in the title death loop, which I will talk about a little later. The way to break it is to eliminate some very important personalities that we’ll find on Blackreef.

Of course, the storyline in Deathloop is not as simple as it may seem. The story progresses quite quickly and evolves as the game progresses. More cards are revealed to the player, and the island of Blackreef also hides many secrets. Although the plot of the new Arkane game is nothing special, it is very enjoyable to absorb and I was very curious to see what would play out next.

The hilarious dialogues also deserve praise, especially those involving a certain character who will occasionally comment on Colt’s actions. Anyway, there is no shortage of humor in the game and you will come across various flavors and gags practically at every step. Also in the notes.

And there are plenty of notes and notes scattered around the world of the game – this is, after all, the production of Arkane. They often add some context to the story, and other times they provide the player with useful information that may or may not be used to eliminate their targets. Nevertheless, in Deathloop, knowledge is a great power that it is a pity not to exploit.

Our hero can have a very rich arsenal of weapons and also have two special skills, such as teleportation, the ability to lift and throw enemies, and invisibility. Of course, there are many more of them and everyone will adapt their set to their own preferences.

Additionally, Colt has a certain tool that allows him to hack selected devices. If a turret stands in our way, nothing prevents us from taking it, moving it to another place and making it fight for us. Hacking is also useful for unlocking doors, taking over motion sensors and a few other tricks.

The gameplay in Deathloop is pure poetry for Arkane Studios fans and beyond. We will find here everything for which we love the newer games of this studio. We can play in our own way, and when we want to try more unusual tricks, the game is open to us. Creative players will be delighted.
