The Medium is not a classic game with a third person perspective. The creators made an interesting procedure in connection with the work of the camera. It is not dynamic, it is static, and in some situations it rotates, moves away or comes closer. Bloober Team referred to the atmosphere of older adventure games, in which an important aspect was the appropriate positioning in the location to touch a specific point of interaction.

The 90s vibe pours out of the screen in every detail of the game. It does not matter whether we are visiting the Niwa hotel, empty streets, dark forest or old ruins. This is our gray, beautiful country in all its glory on the monitor screen. After all, the action of the game takes place in Krakow. The locations themselves, the surroundings, and the complementation of the space give the atmosphere of horror and introduce a note of thrill. Despite this, The Medium is not a full-fledged horror movie, because there is no moment in the game where shivers go down your body. Of course, many places in the material world can be seen in a completely new reflection – in the spiritual world. The creators of the game lead us like a string, some locations have a slightly open form, but we still reach one specific point. Most of the action places in the game are closed, claustrophobic.
