About Gears of War E-Day
Gears of War: E-Day takes the series back to the beginning, telling the story of Emergence Day and humanity’s first devastating encounter with the Locust Horde. Set 14 years before the original Gears of War, the campaign follows a younger Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago as the world around them collapses into war.
The familiar third-person combat returns with a strong focus on heavy weapons, brutal close-range encounters and the series’ signature cover system. Movement has been modernized to give players more freedom during fights, while classic weapons return alongside completely new equipment designed for the increasingly violent battles against the Locust.
Built from the ground up using Unreal Engine 5, E-Day puts more emphasis on the horror and destructive scale of the Locust invasion. The campaign can be experienced alone, in two-player split-screen, or through online co-op with up to four players.
