About The Sinking City 2
The Sinking City 2 takes the series in a more direct survival horror direction, moving away from the open-world investigation structure of the first game and putting much more emphasis on tension, limited resources and dangerous encounters. Set in 1920s Arkham, the game places you in a city being swallowed by a supernatural flood, where ordinary streets, abandoned buildings and underground passages have become hunting grounds for creatures connected to the Lovecraftian mythos.
The atmosphere is one of the strongest parts of the experience. Arkham is not simply a backdrop for the story. Waterlogged streets, damaged Art Deco buildings, abandoned speakeasies and places such as a hospital and fish market create a world that feels increasingly hostile the further you go. The game also takes you beneath the city, where the source of the supernatural disaster becomes much harder to ignore.
The story follows a rescue mission with very personal stakes. After a ritual goes wrong, the soul of a woman is trapped in the Dreamlands while her body is taken by malevolent forces. Your journey through Arkham is therefore not simply about surviving the outbreak. You are trying to reach the source of the catastrophe and bring someone back.
